Privacy Policy & Terms

This Privacy Policy explains how Organizer (“the Extension”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) handles your data when you use the browser extension.

1. Overview

Organizer is a browser extension that replaces your new tab page with a daily planning dashboard. It allows you to create tasks for the day, view calendar events from Google and Microsoft, run multi-search across search engines, and take quick notes.

By using the Extension, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

2. Information We Collect

We only collect or access the minimum data required to provide the Extension’s features.

2.1 Calendar & Task Data

If you choose to connect your Google, Microsoft, or Todoist account, the Extension may access your calendar and task data from:

  • Google Calendar & Tasks (via googleapis.com)
  • Microsoft / Outlook Calendar (via graph.microsoft.com)
  • Todoist (via api.todoist.com)

The Extension may read data such as:

  • Event/Task titles and descriptions
  • Due dates and times
  • Project or list names

This data is used only to display your schedule inside the new tab dashboard. We do not modify your data without your action, and we do not store this data on our own servers.

2.2 Tasks, Notes & Preferences

The Extension allows you to create daily tasks, quick notes, and configure settings (such as quick links or layout preferences). This information is stored using Chrome’s built-in storage mechanisms:

  • chrome.storage.local – to store data locally on your device
  • chrome.storage.sync (if used) – to sync data across your own devices

These data (tasks, notes, preferences) are not sent to any external server managed by us unless explicitly stated.

Google User Data

We adhere to the following retention and deletion policies for Google user data:

Retention

We do not retain your Google user data on any of our servers. All data fetched from Google APIs (Calendar events, Task lists) is stored temporarily in your local browser storage for cache purposes only.

Deletion

  • Upon Usage: You can manually remove any synced account by clicking "Disconnect" in the settings, which immediately removes the associated tokens and cached data from your local storage.
  • Upon Uninstallation: When you uninstall the extension, all locally stored data, including authentication tokens and cached Google data, is immediately and permanently deleted by the browser.
  • Request for Deletion: Since we do not store your data on our servers, there is no need to request deletion from us. You have full control to delete the data by simply removing the extension or clearing your browser data.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we access solely to provide and improve the core features of the Extension:

  • To display your calendar events on the new tab dashboard
  • To allow you to create, edit, and manage daily tasks
  • To store and show your quick notes and quick links
  • To perform multi-search across different search engines

We do not use your information for targeted advertising, profiling, or selling your data.

4. Browser Permissions & Hosts

The Extension requests certain permissions and host access to function properly:

4.1 New Tab Override

The Extension overrides the default new tab page in order to display the planning dashboard (tasks, calendars, notes, and search).

4.2 Storage

The storage permission is used to save your tasks, notes, and settings locally (and optionally via Chrome Sync) so they persist between sessions and across your own devices.

4.3 Host Permissions

The Extension may communicate with the following hosts:

https://www.googleapis.com/* https://tasks.googleapis.com/* https://api.todoist.com/* https://graph.microsoft.com/* https://login.microsoftonline.com/*
  • Calendar & Task APIs – to fetch your events and tasks from Google, Microsoft, and Todoist after you grant permission.
  • OAuth login endpoints – to securely authenticate your Google and Microsoft accounts.

These endpoints are used only to fetch or send data needed for the Extension’s features. No remote executable code is loaded or run from these hosts.

5. Data Sharing & Selling

We do not sell your data. We do not share your personal information with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.

Data may be transmitted to service providers solely to fulfill specific features, for example:

  • Google and Microsoft – to retrieve calendar data after you connect your account

These providers process data according to their own terms and privacy policies. We do not grant them additional rights to your data beyond what is necessary to provide the requested feature.

6. Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information, including:

  • Using HTTPS for all API communications
  • Limiting data access to only what is needed for each feature
  • Avoiding persistent storage of calendar data on our own servers (unless explicitly stated)

However, no method of transmission or electronic storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Children’s Privacy

The Extension is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date.

Your continued use of the Extension after any modifications indicates your acceptance of the updated policy.

9. Terms & Conditions

By using the Extension, you agree to the following terms:

9.1 Email Linking

Your email address will be linked to your license key for verification purposes when you upgrade to Premium.

9.2 Refund Policy

You can claim a full refund within 7 days of purchase. To request a refund, please send an email to akhilesh.thakre8@gmail.com with your purchase details.

9.3 Microsoft Calendar Sync

If your organization manages your Microsoft 365 account, admin approval may be required to enable calendar sync functionality. This is a security setting controlled by your organization, not the Extension.

9.4 Data Storage & Backups

All your data is stored locally in your browser. We do not maintain a cloud backup of your tasks or notes. You are responsible for exporting your data (Settings → Export CSV) regularly to prevent data loss.
